What's That Buzz?

Every year there seems to be a family of hornets that moves into the pool shed. This year is no different. They usually don't bother me much, and I find if I leave them alone, they do the same in return.

One morning this past week, I was out skimming the pool when I heard a familiar buzz. I didn't see anything, but I knew it was close by. My immediate reaction was to swat the air around my head with my hands and take a few steps to my left, closer to the house and further from the shed. I didn't think much of it until a second later when I heard the buzzing once more. Again, I did my little swat thing and side stepped over a few feet. More buzzing - now I'm starting to get nervous. What if it flew up my shorts or is stuck somewhere in my hair? I started swatting and dancing, madly tugging on the edge of my shorts and moving the hair on my neck from one side to the next while quickly navigating to the side of the pool closest to the house.

And then I remembered. "Hello? Yeah, I thought you were a hornet in my shorts", I said as I answered my cell phone that was in my pocket - on vibrate. Hopefully I at least provided some entertainment for the neighbors and burned a few calories.

1) what hours is the pool open and,
2) lmao. that's one of the reasons my phone has an annoying, loud ring.

Ooooo, I wish I was an annoying fly on the wall - this would have provided entertainment for the weekend for me.
Lynt - the pool is open 24/7. You and Rita are invited anytime!

Yes, I'm thinking the ring may be a better option when I am by the pool.
I think I may have invented some new dance moves Rita.
Cristina you can only be a fly on the wall if you promise not to buzz.

Don't you love it when we can laugh at ourselves!
(Please don't swat at those guys for real...you are right, if you are not aggressive towards them they will leave you alone).

Oh my, I'm laughing so hard I'm crying....I can just imagine...I'm really glad it was a cell phone buzzing and not a hornet in your shorts.

what a little slice of heaven! The pool that is....not the hornets. I guess it is par for the course during the spring season? I have a wasp nest to reckon with. So, feel like company sometime late august? lol. I was laughing out loud at this one. Picturing you swatting away and then realizing it was your phone...still chuckling!
Ok Cristina - maybe just a little buzz.

Hey Rubye Jean - I provide myself with lots of opportunities to laugh - being the klutz that I am I can entertain myself on a regular basis!

I'm glad too OC. The shorts were actually swimming shorts so if a hornet was up there, I would have been in big trouble.

Thank you MLL! Late August - sounds good to me! We can exchange wasp/hornet stories and sit by the pool - without cell phones.

LMAO...and here I thought I was the only one who still forgets that I have a cell phone and it is usually on vibrate. Here are some tips for you.
1. While sitting on your couch in room with wooden floor...before screaming rattle snake..make sure your phone isn't under there buzzing around.
2. Don't think your woman parts are getting nervous when waiting for your women's appointment...if your phone is tucked in your lap.
3. And never think the person you are dancing with has some kind of crazy butt skills if you notice that bum lights up at the same time it moves.
