First Ride Of The Season

Image
Mr. and Mrs. Moto getting ready to head down the street on their big bikes. The bikes - Mr. Moto, CJ, Blondie, and Mrs. Moto. What's worse - helmet hair or Wayne's World hair? Tough call. Our lunch destination in Sunderland, Mass.

The Story Of The Little Bird

Image
Birdie, birdie, on my pool gate you sit. You and your mate, you peep and you flit. But when I shouted shoo, You dropped some more poo, And now my patio is all covered with shit.

Welcome Baby Daniel!

Image
Hi Baby Daniel! I'm your crazy great-aunt CJ.  What's that? Oh yes, I know I look way too young to actually be your great-aunt but it is true.   I am thrilled you are finally here. Welcome to the family little one!

Off the Beaten Path

Past the mall, stores, and restaurants on busy Boston Road in Springfield, Mass is this pond. I took this picture at sunset last Saturday night, sometime after dinner and before karaoke.  I think this may be 5-Mile Pond, which is where my mother used to swim as a kid (well, pretend to swim - she always kept one foot firmly planted on the bottom).

Thanks To Two Cool Ladies

Image
I've gotten two cool awards recently from a couple of very nice ladies. Thank you to Lesbo over at girls, girls, girls for A Perfect Blend Of Friendship Award and to LilliGirl at It's A Great Life... for the One Lovely Blog Award. I follow both of these great blogs and am very flattered to have gotten a shout out from Lesbo and LilliGirl.  Thank you both.

Next Time, Please Remind Me..

...that I still can't carry a tune in bucket, no matter how hard Sam Adams tries to convince me otherwise. And why the hell did we choose what has to be one of the longest songs in the whole karaoke database - Bohemian Rhapsody? Mama mia ,mama mia ,mama mia ! I can judge the intensity and length of the previous night's antics by the way my bathroom floor looks in the morning. And yes, that is a Winnie the Pooh shower curtain and bath mat. Don't make fun.

Lights, Camera, Gush!

My good friend Dawna Sirard is finishing up her film degree at Smith College this spring. And she just found out that her film, Neshomeleh, is being shown in New York City this Saturday at the Columbia University National Undergraduate Film Festival 2009 .   I think this is such a cool thing.  And it has nothing to due with the fact that I'm hoping Dawna will invite me to some really cool parties in LA once she becomes rich and famous. (What the heck am I going to wear? I hope she keeps it casual.) Maybe she'll cast me in her next feature as the quiet girl next door who somehow always ends up swimming half clothed in her pool on warm summer nights. Sorry - getting off track here. Good luck this weekend Dawna! I hope you come home with an award or two! And if any of you happen to be in NYC this weekend, this would be a fun thing to check out. Dawna's film and production company, Gush Films,  can be found on  The Internet Movie Database.

Spring Camera

Image
I've seen posts on two of the cool blogs I follow ( Keep Calm And Carry On  and Pixie Flute ) that there is some new camera buying going on amongst my fellow bloggers. I just got a new Canon PowerShot SX200 and really have no idea what I am doing yet.  Below are a couple of pictures I took at the Mohegan Sun Casino. I had to use iPhoto to adjust them as they appeared a bit dark and not quite as sharp as I like. I see such great photos on the blogs that I visit. I'm wondering - do most people use their photos as is, out of the camera, or do the majority of photos need to be adjusted in some way with software? Sometimes I feel like I am 'cheating' a bit when I enhance photos before posting them. I'm curious as to what other's out there do and think.

A Re-Post: Why I Like Motorcycles Better Than Men

Image
Since motorcycle season is upon us, I am re-running the second post I ever did with some slight revisions. Why I like Motorcycles Better Than Men Because a girl sitting on a bike is hotter than a girl sitting on a guy. Because even though my bike has nice pipes, I don't have to touch them. Because I can lock my bike in the garage when I am done with it for the day. Because the only rubber I am interested in is the one on my tires. Because I can ride it for hours without it getting tired.     Because none of the studs act like an ass.   Because when I outgrow it, I can trade it in for a bigger one.     Because it doesn't make any noise unless I tell it to. Because it doesn't like, need, or have a lot of gas in it. Because it's just as happy to see me in a t-shirt as it is to see me in leather.
