Martini Cartwheels

There are so many things for which to be thankful for today. And one thing for which I and so many others are not. If you are still struggling with the results of this past election, here are few things that may help ease your pain. Meditate: Take some time for you. Find a quiet space, close your eyes, and breath deeply.  Exercise: Join a gym, go for a walk, move your body. Release that stress! Run as far as you can without stopping, perhaps all the way to Canada. Get back to nature: Hike the great outdoors. Find two sticks, about 5 inches in length. Now whittle the ends of those sticks into a nice sharp point and push them hard into your ear canal. Ahh...relief from the pain of the past few weeks. Take up a new hobby such as wine tasting. Buy yourself 7 cases of mixed varieties. Make notes on your favorites.  After the weekend, when you have depleted your stock, head back to the liquor store for 7 more cases and perhaps a wheel of cheese or two. Read a good book. My ...

If I have one more phone message from A reola Brown or Ariel Brown or whatever the heck her name is, I am going to scream. I get it , I get it. Your Dad is Scott Brown and he is running against Martha Coakley and blah, blah, blah, blah. Oh, and just so you know, you had one organization call for your Dad this morning where the gentleman sounded like he had spent several years huffing paint and/or nail polish remover. I listened to his whole spiel just because I was worried he might pass out and hit his head on the desk. The woman that called this weekend had a very pretty southern accent. And although I found the sexy drawl intriguing, when I asked her Brown's position on gay marriage there was complete silence on the other end of the phone. Guess she wasn't from around these parts. You would have to be ill, infirm, and living under a rock not to know we have a big election tomorrow here in Massachusetts. My 84 year old Mother even knows - and she tries to cut loaves of bread ...

When I first read that John McCain chose a female VP, I was excited. I saw her picture - she was young and looked a bit like Karen on the show Will and Grace. She must fairly moderate I thought. Then I read the following on Boston.com : In October of 2006, the Anchorage Daily News described Palin's positions on social issues :"A significant part of Palin's base of support lies among social and Christian conservatives. Her positions on social issues emerged slowly during the campaign: on abortion (should be banned for anything other than saving the life of the mother), stem cell research (opposed), physician-assisted suicide (opposed), creationism (should be discussed in schools), state health benefits for same-sex partners (opposed, and supports a constitutional amendment to bar them)." WTF? It's Mitt Romney in drag! I knew he would get on the ticket somehow. Someone please comfort me and tell me Hillary supporters are not going to jump over the fence and vote for...

I had the misfortune of turning on the car radio just as Romney's exit speech was being aired. The development of a child is enhanced by having a mother and father. Such a family is the ideal for the future of the child and for the strength of a nation.I wonder how it is that unelected judges, like some in my state of Massachusetts, are so unaware of this reality, so oblivious to the millennia of recorded history. It is time for the people of America to fortify marriage through constitutional amendment, so that liberal judges cannot continue to attack it! I wanted to shove sharp sticks into my ears and pierce my eardrums to stop the noise. Instead, I listened as he ranted about family values, morality, and my apparent lack of both. And then I smiled, for the reason of the speech was a joyous occassion. Mitt was out.
