This is a picture of the pool reflecting the house on one side, the fence and my legs on the other. It was taken about 6:40 AM this morning. Hoping to get in some pool time this weekend. Happy Friday!

Hey! You're getting all artsy with your photography. Looking at things a little differently?
Thanks Rubye Jean. You just pop on over anytime. I had the Margarator out yesterday whipping up a few batches - one with your name on it. It may not be as hot here as AZ, but it's still pool weather in Massachusetts.
Hey Ms. Creek - Thanks for the visit. You and your sister are welcome anytime to hang by the pool at the Martini Ranch! I got some swim time in yesterday and it was great.
I'm lucky Rita - the house came with a pool. The swimming season is unfortunately pretty short here but it is a lot of fun. You and Lyn are invited too!

...that I am outta City Hall in three weeks. I am giving my notice at work on Monday, something I hate to do. I have been very worried about the economic climate and my continued status as a dependent contractor at my current organization. My position is funded until June, but with a freeze both on hiring and overtime and worsening conditions, I feel I need to get out while I can. Being a contractor affords me no unemployment insurance and if things continue as they are, I think jobs will be harder to come by as June nears. I have accepted a position at a University in the Boston area. The commute will still pretty much stink, but it is a 35 hour week and there is the opportunity to work remotely (i.e. from my dining room) one day a week. I am really looking forward to joining this organization and very excited to be working in higher ed. Giving my notice is going to be very tough. I have been with my current organization, as both a full time employee and a contractor, for over 8 years
Up until last night, I thought I had tried everything. Dishwashing soap, dental floss, olive oil, two different kinds of hand lotion, ice, and Windex. I was just about to give up. However, my friends McMeaty and McCheesy were not. First came the WD-40 and lots of tugging. Standing over the kitchen sink, McMeaty gave it his all. Unfortunately the WD-40 not only lubed up my finger but his entire hand as well. No go there. Next came the dental floss. But the hand cream I had put on after the WD-40 only made the floss slip right off my finger without moving the ring. At this point, I had been sitting on the couch with my arm elevated for about ten minutes or so. This made the swelling go down quite a bit (thank you Chewy ). McMeaty was confident between the hand lotion and the reduction in swelling that another few pulls and twists would work. I sat on the couch, arm still elevated, while he patiently moved the ring up to my knuckle. Then wth a few more twists, turns, and tugging, the rin
