A Little Fun With Some V-One

I've decided that the official vodka of Martini Cartwheels is going to be V-One Vodka. It's a locally based company, out of Hadley, Mass. It is our favorite and the favorite of many of our friends.

V-One was doing a promotion at a local pub the other night. In addition to having a yummy Cosmo, French Martini, and fresh squeezed grapefruit and vodka, we also got a cool V-One hat and t-shirt. And honestly, this is really good stuff. I wouldn't say it if I didn't mean it. Go V-One!

Looking forward to seeing you at your martini tent at the Eastern States Exposition this fall!

Seriously, the guys from the company were so nice and we had so much fun that I told them I would mention them here.

You got it Chewy! I will save you seat by the bar. Nothing goes with a Maine baked potato, kettle corn, and fried oreos like a nice chilled martini.

So what I was trying to say in my earlier and now removed post was I have my V1, OJ & Cranberry Juice in my 'fridge - not much else (thank goodness for eating out).

Here's an interesting texting typo I created last week: And if airline seats get any smaller, I can see this being an actual problem. Can you imagine? I'm sorry ma'am, but there is no way both of you can seat in one seat. You will have to purchase an additional ticket for "her". What would happen then? Would she want the window or middle seat? That's assuming she would even want to sit next to me. I mean, we are together 24/7 so she may want a little alone time, out in the open air, where she is free of any restraint. And what if she is chatty, flapping her lips the whole time? You Are Hereby Put On Official Notice

...that I am outta City Hall in three weeks. I am giving my notice at work on Monday, something I hate to do. I have been very worried about the economic climate and my continued status as a dependent contractor at my current organization. My position is funded until June, but with a freeze both on hiring and overtime and worsening conditions, I feel I need to get out while I can. Being a contractor affords me no unemployment insurance and if things continue as they are, I think jobs will be harder to come by as June nears. I have accepted a position at a University in the Boston area. The commute will still pretty much stink, but it is a 35 hour week and there is the opportunity to work remotely (i.e. from my dining room) one day a week. I am really looking forward to joining this organization and very excited to be working in higher ed. Giving my notice is going to be very tough.
