I Kissed A Girl Twenty Years Ago

It was twenty years ago today that I kissed a girl for the first time. So I guess this makes it my 20th anniversary of being a lesbian. Some people could argue it's actually been more like 35 years. This was taken during my plaid Toughskin Jeans period.

That was prior to my Ralph Macchio period (thanks for that great reference Ronia). By that time, I had traded in my Toughskins for Earth Shoes. That's one of my nieces standing next to me. I sort of look like her uncle. Wax on, wax off.

Anyway, here's to twenty years of being the person I was born to be. An Earth Shoe wearing, plaid Toughskin toting, big 'ol lesbian.

LOL! I remember those shoes! Had a pair in 7th and 8th grade and I think my mom bought them at Thom McMann in the Fairfield Mall!

How are you celebrating?

Congrats! LOVE the car picture... you were too cool for school.

I wish I knew the date that I first kissed a girl..

I know the place, what I was wearing, what she was wearing, her name... but not the date. That might have something to do with all of the tequila sunrises I consumed in said place.

Those were the days.

Happy Anniversary! You and the Cordoba (with its rich, Corinthian leather) look great in that picture!
Wow, the exact date. I know it was fall of 1987. That's the best I can do. :) Congrats on 20 years!

Hey thanks ladies!

I appreciate all your nice comments.

Blondie - I will deal with you in person :) ilytbg.

Ronia - I think my shoes were from the same store, lol. I miss the Fairfield Mall!

Thank you Jude! I am in Ptown this week and I will be raising a glass later today. Cheers to you too!

Hey Mel - I think Jude knows where you can get a pair if you are interested :)

Hi Allison - I only remember because it would also be the 20th anniversary with my first gf if things had worked out.

Hello C.I.W.! Well, that's still quite a bit you do remember. Those damn Tequila Sunrises!

Thanks Shannon. I never remembered your sister being quite that short though.

Thank you FFGM! Like I mentioned above, it it wasn't for the whole anniversary thing, I'm not sure I would remember.

Hey there Solo! I only have one question. What the heck is the Conistoga?

Hi Amy! That is such a sweet story! So you were great with the ladies even way back then huh?

Thanks Lilli! My only regret was that I hadn't done it sooner.

Hey Small Town! Thank you very much. It was a great day - took a ride to Provincetown!

Okay, TOTALLY snorted my Starbucks iced green tea/lemonade over the Ralph Maccio reference. Someday, I'll post a few pics of my own. I alternated between stoned cheerleader and art/drama geek. I still have trouble finding my identity. Probably in my junk drawer...I'll look there tomorrow. Wait! That's my identity! Procrastinator extraordinaire.
