"A" is For Arrogant

"I ment to mention this earlier, but I would expect if you see my caller I'd come up, you place the other call on hold."

A good friend of mine, who shall remain anonymous for this post, recently received this email from her manager. The misspelled words are his, not mine. This friend is a very intelligent, well paid, IT professional. Her manager is evidently an arrogant a-hole.

I'm so tired of companies taking the attitude that we are lucky to work for them. I've seen this more and more recently and I'm guessing the slow economy has left many companies thinking they can treat their employees like crap because, after all, we are so freaking blessed to be working for them.

I'm lucky. I work for a great organization, have great co-workers, and a wonderful manager. I really enjoy my job very much. And I believe in the work hierarchy - I respect those in positions above me and obey the rules. But I have people in my life who are not as lucky and frankly, this cocky attitude by some companies is really pissing me off. I can't wait for the economy to turn around and they have to pay a sign on bonus just to get an entry level person in the door.

So to the manager who inspired this post, the one that thinks his employees should ask "how high?" when he says jump, I say kiss my ass you egocentric bastard.

Other than that, I have no strong feelings on the issue.

I first read "I'd" as the contraction for "I would"... and I couldn't figure out what he was talking about.

Reply should have been: I ment to tell you with the current state of my pay check caller I'D is a luxury and you will just have to keep trying.

Being unemployed I seem to be meeting a lot of these folks. Good post.
Confusing huh Chewy? ID lose my mind if he was my boss.

Ms Creek, what ever happened to do unto others...? Respect has to be earned, even if you are the manager.

Great response Jules! I love it!

Hey TaraD! Yes, they have got us right where they want us. The tide will turn however, hopefully sooner than later!
