1. Rewards Card? -----> I hit Yes

2. Point Balance is 500 - Redeem? ------> I hit No

3. Debit Card? -------> I hit No

4. Car Wash Today? -----> I hit No

5. Would you like a receipt? ------> I hit No

6. Pap Smear? ------> I ran away.

If 500 bonus points are worth a "Pap smear", what the hell do ya get for a thousand???

excellent post -- those gas pumps have been driving me nuts for awhile now. Now the insult to injury: "we will charge .45 for the use of your debit card. Is this okay?"

Well, no, it's not okay, but I've run the gauntlet and am ready to pump my gas so...what am I going to do? Pack up and go to another station?

Here's an interesting texting typo I created last week: And if airline seats get any smaller, I can see this being an actual problem. Can you imagine? I'm sorry ma'am, but there is no way both of you can seat in one seat. You will have to purchase an additional ticket for "her". What would happen then? Would she want the window or middle seat? That's assuming she would even want to sit next to me. I mean, we are together 24/7 so she may want a little alone time, out in the open air, where she is free of any restraint. And what if she is chatty, flapping her lips the whole time? I'm not a big talker when I travel, preferring instead to bury my head in a magazine so I can take my mind off the flight and enjoy my Ativan. You Are Hereby Put On Official Notice

...that I am outta City Hall in three weeks. I am giving my notice at work on Monday, something I hate to do. I have been very worried about the economic climate and my continued status as a dependent contractor at my current organization. My position is funded until June, but with a freeze both on hiring and overtime and worsening conditions, I feel I need to get out while I can. Being a contractor affords me no unemployment insurance and if things continue as they are, I think jobs will be harder to come by as June nears. I have accepted a position at a University in the Boston area. The commute will still pretty much stink, but it is a 35 hour week and there is the opportunity to work remotely (i.e. from my dining room) one day a week. I am really looking forward to joining this organization and very excited to be working in higher ed. Giving my notice is going to be very tough.
